I've been involved in the Action Shooting Sports since 1991. My first introduction was shooting steel matches in Southern California and soon after, USPSA. My first real competition gun was a Single Stack 1911, I shot a 38 Super Para Ordnance in Open Division for many years, then back to Single Stack and recently I've started shooting Limited Division with an STI Edge. I am an NRA Certified Instructor, Arizona CCW Certified Instructor and teach Beginning Action Shooting. I am a photographer, public speaker and educator teaching small business development, e-commerce, information marketing, graphics and photography.

The 8th Annual Western States Single Stack Championship
concluded this past weekend, January 30-31, at Rio Salado Sportsmans Club in Mesa Arizona. This year 235 competitors brought out their classic John Browning 1911’s to compete in one of the best Single Stack matches held anywhere.

From SHOT Show
Media day at the 2010 SHOT Show was greeted with the first of what promises to be a series of winter storms coming from the Pacific. The entire western region has been suffering from lack of rain throughout 2009 and into the beginning weeks of 2010. The normally sunny and pleasant temperatures of Las Vegas gave way to highs in mid 40’s, rain and wind all day Monday.

For many Action Shooting competitors September – October begins to wind down their competition season. September brings the USPSA National Championships, the IDPA National Championship, and October, the USPSA Multi-gun Championship. For many these are the final big matches of the year. But here in Arizona, November marks the beginning of the competition season.
